Monty to the rescue…Hilarious!

An out-of-state visitor was driving his car along a back country road when he suddenly lost control and drove straight into a deep ditch.  Lucky for him, a farmer happen to come along about 20 minutes later with his big old horse named Monty.  The man asked for help.  The farmer said, “No problem, Monty can pull your car out.”  So he backed Monty up and hitched Monty up to the man’s car bumper.  Then he yelled, “Pull Misty, pull!”  Monty didn’t move.  Then he yelled, “Come on, pull Dakota!”  Still, Monty didn’t move.  Then he yelled in his loudest voice, “Now pull Barney, pull hard!”  Monty just stood there.  Finally, the farmer nonchalantly said, “Okay Monty, pull” and Monty managed to pull the car out of the ditch.  The man couldn’t stop thanking the farmer, he was so appreciative. But he said, “I gotta ask…why did you call your horse by the wrong name three times?”  The farmer replied, “Oh, Monty is blind.  If he thought he was the only one pulling, he wouldn’t even try!”

We thought this was a fitting joke for our post on horse vision: 33% of all horses are near-sighted or far sighted.  It’s an interesting read and has sparked some debate within the chat rooms.
